Welcome, families! Caitlin Ryan is the Founder and Lead Trainer of The Invested Nest, a Washington, D.C.–based business that provides employer-sponsored professional development for in-home caregivers. The program equips nannies with evidence-based training in child development, emotional attunement, and culturally responsive caregiving. Through a strength-based, research-informed approach, The Invested Nest helps caregivers grow in confidence and skill, supporting intentional, developmentally meaningful experiences for children in the home.

The Invested Nest was created to break down the barriers that often prevent dedicated nannies from accessing high-quality child development education—barriers such as high tuition costs, competing family responsibilities, and limited professional development opportunities, especially for those transitioning from center-based roles. By blending undergraduate and master's-level child development concepts into accessible, real-world training, the program provides families with a meaningful way to invest in their nanny’s growth while enhancing the quality of care at home.

Drawing on her doctoral research exploring the impact of infusing empowerment-based strategies to support professional development and well-being, and shaped by years of experience working with diverse populations around the world—Caitlin brings a globally informed, compassion-driven lens to every training session. She is currently welcoming new families seeking to invest in their nanny’s growth—and their child’s future.

"While conducting early childhood research with Caitlin in Vietnam, her expertise and mentoring helped me effectively deliver educational content to the children in our program. Caitlin's research interest in understanding factors influencing Vietnamese mothers’ decision-making on infant feeding practices was a catalyst for my doctoral dissertation research."
